I build tools for developers who take their craft seriously. PromptVault started as a personal problem — prompts I wrote disappeared. I got tired of that and built the solution.
Every developer I know who uses AI tools daily has the same invisible problem. You write a prompt that works perfectly — the AI does exactly what you needed. You close the tab. Next week, same problem comes up. You spend twenty minutes trying to remember what you wrote. You give up and write something worse from scratch.
I tried Notion. I tried plain text files. I tried bookmarking chats. Nothing worked because none of those tools understood the problem — they were built for notes, not prompts. A prompt is a living artifact. It gets better over time. It has context. It has a history of what worked and what didn't. None of the generic tools could hold that.
““A prompt is a living artifact. It gets better over time. None of the generic tools could hold that.””
So I built PromptVault. Not as a startup — as a craftsman building the tool I wished existed. Local-first because I don't trust the cloud with my workflow. AI-powered because prompt engineering is a skill and good tools should help you get better at the skills that matter. Browser extension because the biggest friction in any workflow is switching windows.
WILxAI is the brand behind PromptVault. It's how I build in public — on YouTube, on X, on Instagram, on TikTok, on Dev.to. Every tool I build starts as a problem I had. PromptVault is the first one I decided to make available to other developers. I hope it saves you the same frustration it saved me.
Building at the intersection of development and AI.
WILxAI is where I document building with AI tools — tutorials, projects, and real products I ship and make public. If you're a developer who wants to build better and faster with AI, this is the community for you.
